The National Gulf War Resource Center is a pro-active, pro-veteran organization, and we are currently expanding our efforts on behalf of veterans. In two years, the NGWRC, acting on behalf of 697,000 Gulf War veterans, has:
1. The NGWRC published and distributed 5,000 Gulf War Syndrome Self Help Guides, and is preparing to publish our second printing of 5,000 updated guides. Many of these guides are now available through various service officers arround the country and on-line through this web site.
2. The NGWRC testified before Congress, the Presidential Advisory Committee, the General Accounting Office, and state legislatures regarding medical research, health care, and compensation for the more than 100,000 ill veterans of the Gulf War.
3. The NGWRC conducted research and published our findings showing soldiers were exposed to chemical warfare agents, resulting in an admission by the Pentagon in 1996 that American soldiers were exposed, and a subsequent admission in 1997 that as many as 100,000 were exposed to deadly nerve agents.
4. The NGWRC conducted research and publicized information regarding the toxic and radiological effects of depleted uranium. We now know that tens of thousands of American soldiers were exposed to DU, the nuclear waste by-product used as tank armor and tank rounds.
5. The NGWRC sends information regarding Gulf War illnesses to NGWRC Member Groups, other veteran groups, the press, Congress, and others interested in this issue.
We need your financial support to continue our efforts. Please mail your generous contribution today.
